The Challenge

Delivery Hero is one of Europe's largest tech companies. With 500,000+ restaurant partners and hundreds of thousands of couriers worldwide, the rider lifecycle had been managed manually for years. From first contact through recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding. At the scale of 60+ markets, that became unsustainable.

What We Automated

We automated the complete rider lifecycle across six stages:

  • Lead acquisition: automated capture and qualification of applicants from performance marketing campaigns across 40+ markets
  • Recruiting: ATS and HRIS integration for seamless lead-to-candidate transitions
  • Onboarding: standardized processes with digital signatures (DocuSign) and automated identity verification (Onfido)
  • Performance management: data-driven evaluation and development processes
  • Retention: automated engagement measures based on behavioral patterns
  • Offboarding: structured separation processes with complete documentation

The data layer started with Google Sheets and was later migrated to BigQuery as the system scaled.
